My chy 200 2015 turns on fan when the coolant temp reaches 230 f. how do I make the fan turn on when the temp is at 200 f? 230 f seems too high thank you.

To check the temperature at which the fan comes on, turn the A/C off and keep the engine running until it reaches normal operating temperature. Most fans should come on when the coolant reaches about 200 to 230 degrees. If the fan does not come on, something in the control circuit is defective.

It will take longer for the engine coolant to get hot enough on a cold day in January in Minnesota than say for a hot day in August in Phoenix. But, on a normal 70–80 degree day you should hear the fan run, I would guess, after about 15 to 20 minutes of idling from a cold start.

The sensor works by measuring the temperature that's being given off by the thermostat and/or the coolant itself. The temperature is then sent to the on-board control system. ... As the control system receives the temperature from the CTS, it may trigger the cooling fan to either shut off or turn on.

The temperature sensor determines when the radiator fan comes on by reading the cooling system temperature. If the sensor isn't working, your fan won't come on because it won't know that the temperature is hot enough to require activation, which can frequently lead to overheating.

Your radiator fan should kick in at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. If you notice your vehicle is overheating or at the very least running hotter than it normally does, listen for the fan to see if you can hear it.
